On Friday the chairperson of the state capture inquiry, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, granted a summons to be issued to former president Jacob Zuma to appear before the commission.
This comes following an application by the commission’s legal team, led by Advocate Paul Pretorius. Except for the many investigations that occurred during Zuma’s term as president, some of the reasons mentioned include that there are 34 other witnesses that have implicated Zuma and that he needed to answer on these allegations. The summons is not uncommon as many have already been issued.
Zuma is expected to appear at 10 am from 16 to 20 November 2020 and has been granted permission to join via a video link.
