On Tuesday, Premier Alan Winde gave a statistic update of Coronavirus cases in the Western Cape.
There are currently 490 confirmed cases in the Western Cape, 389 of them are in the Cape Town Metro. The sub-districts breakdown is as follows:
- Western – 153
- Southern – 123
- Northern – 25
- Tygerberg – 36
- Eastern – 19
- Klipfontein – 21
- Mitchells Plain – 7
- Khayelitsha – 5
There are 28 people admitted to hospital for COVID-19, 10 of which are in the Intensive Care Unit.
Winde said, “A 57-year-old man became the third Western Cape COVID-19 related death. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones.”
South Africa’s confirmed cases has jumped to 1749 on Tuesday.
The government is still urging members of the public to remember the importance of basic hygiene practices and abide by the lockdown regulations. Practice social distancing when going outside to get essential goods, medical attention or collect a social grant.
