Two People Shot Dead in a Paarl Taxi

According to reports, two people were shot dead in a taxi in Paarl on Tuesday.

The Toyota Quantum, which reportedly had two occupants, was traveling on Pinzi Street at around 12:45 when unidentified people in another taxi shot at the vehicle.

Two men in their thirties were reportedly killed. Western Cape Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said, “The circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation. Detectives are following up on leads in order to bring those responsible to book.”

Last week according to reports, 41-year-old taxi owner Nkosiyabo Mhobo was shot dead in Mbekweni, according to the Paarl Post.

It’s reported that three taxi drivers were killed last month, with taxi violence rife over the past few months.
