According to news reports, police have located and arrested a man in connection with the disappearance of 8-year-old Tazne van Wyk. The minor went missing almost two weeks ago.

Police earlier identified Moehydien Pangaker, 54, as someone who could help with the case.

News24 reports, “Regional police spokesperson Captain Lariane Jonker did not name the person who was arrested but confirmed that “the alleged suspect who can apparently be linked to the disappearance of the minor child was arrested in the Cradock police precinct” around 22:15 on Monday. She said the suspect would appear in the Cradock Magistrate’s Court soon.”

According to News24, two police sources close to the investigation had confirmed that Pangaker was arrested.

Tazne has still not been found, she was last seen walking to a shop near her home in Elsies River.
