Cape Town – On 6 August the Mini-bus Taxi Industry Task Team (MTITT) in the Western Cape will go on strike as they call for effective leadership.
The Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (Cata) and the Congress of Democratic Taxi Associations (Codeta) make up the MTITT.
The task team is unhappy about the disorganization of the South African National Taxi Association Council. It says the Council has not resolved pending issues, therefore, dismissing the rights of members of the industry.
The MTITT has requested a Pre-Elective Conference where registered taxi associations are able to negotiate, but not compromise demands.
Industry members not associated with the MTITT will still be operational.
