Strandfontein cake fairy dies at Sacks Circle race

Melyssa Lavita (30) from Strandfontein, also known as the Cake Fairy and owner of Cake Fairy by Melyssa, died on Friday evening while watching an alleged drag race at Sacks Circle in Bellville South.

According to a statement released by Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, a culpable homicide case has been opened for investigation. Rwexana said the incident occurred on April 3, 2021, at 12.30 am in Sacks Circle Bellville South. “On the scene, SAPS members found a female aged 30 deceased on the ground in the road. She had sustained head and leg injuries. A 21-year-old suspect was arrested and will appear in court once charged.”

Speaking to the Weekend Argus, the victim’s dad, Anthony La Vita said his daughter joined friends from their car club called “Anointed Nation” and left for Sacks Circle in Bellville South late on Friday evening.
