Following an intelligence-led investigation, three people were arrested after six rhino horns were found in a Clau-Clau home in Mpumalanga.
After searching the premises, the search team found multiple hunting knives in one of the cars parked on the property. While inside the home, large amounts of money were discovered. Six rhino horns were also found in the outside bathroom and are believed to have been poached from three rhinos.
The vehicles, money and rhino horns have been confiscated by the team.
The suspects are believed to be two males and one female, aged between 24 and 34. They have been arrested for the illegal possession of rhino horn according to the National Environmental Biodiversity Act.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Kabokweni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
