The loved and iconic actress Shaleen Shurtie-Richards passed away at the age of 66, her agency confirmed to several news outlets.
Surtie-Richards who was known for her life-long performing arts work will also be remembered for her iconic role in Fiela Se Kin.
Her well-known role in M-Net’s soapie Egoli: Place of Gold also made Shaleen a household favourite. She also starred in Treurgrond, Mama Jack, and recently in the popular new series Arendsvlei.
Surtie-Richards received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Royalty Soapie Awards.
The details surrounding her death are still unknown and her family is still to release a statement.
