Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh died on Friday morning at 99 years old. The Duke, who was married to Queen Elizabeth II, passed away at Windsor Castle.
Prince Philip had been hospitalised in February this year but was discharged after 4 weeks. He returned to Windsor Castle where he self-isolated with the Queen.
The royal family’s statement reads: “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle.”
