Priest Left for Dead Outside Mission House in KZN

Reverend Sandiso Sithole (41), the Rector of St John’s Parish was shot in the head at a mission house next to an Anglican church near Tongaat on Monday.

According to reports, Rev.Sithole was shot at around 8 pm. Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst confirmed a call out to a shooting that took place at a mission house next to the Anglican church in Hambanathi, in Tongaat.

“A full advanced life-support resuscitation was initiated but the patient’s condition rapidly deteriorated and he sadly succumbed,” said Herbst.

Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said the Tongaat police are investigating a case of murder, however, no arrests have been made.

Rev. Sithole’s death comes a month after his wife Nomthandazo Cynthia Sithole was found dead in a car on a farm in Eshowe. Her vehicle’s engine was running with a pipe connected to the exhaust leading into its cabin. She was a teacher at Qinisweni Primary School in Inanda.
