Twenty-six-year-old Zakiyyah Ahmedjan Ismail, an expectant mother of two, was brutally murdered during an invasion on their Weenen Farm in KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday evening.
According to reports, three men attacked the security guard on the farm before they entered the house and demanded valuables. They fought with Ayoob Ismail, Zakiyyah’s husband, and forced him into the kitchen.
According to the deceased’s father, Abdulgaffar Ahmedjan, the three men started kicking the children and when Zakiyyah tried to protect them, the men pulled her away and slit her throat.
The suspects fled the scene empty-handed at around 7 pm.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said the Weenen SAPS are investigating however no arrests have been made.
Zakiyyah was 4 months pregnant with the couple’s third child. Her family says they will remember her as a warm, humble human being, always willing to help.
