Parts of Holy Cross Children’s Home Destroyed By Fire

On Saturday a fire broke out at the Holy Cross Children’s Home near Parow Industria Cape Town, damaging the building’s second storey.

It is reported that the City’s fire services were notified about the fire at around 09:53 on Saturday morning.

The Belhar fire station deployed its team to the scene to extinguish the fire. After assessing the severity of the fire the team called for assistance and more crew members from the Kuils River, Goodwood and Lansdowne fire stations were called to the scene. By 12 noon the fire was completely extinguished.

The bathrooms, bedrooms, lounge and kitchen area on the second storey has been severely damaged by the fire.

While the cause of the fire is not yet known, no injuries have been reported and all residents were recorded present.
