Six injured in random shooting at taxi rank in Pretoria

Six people have been injured in a shooting that took place at the Bosman taxi rank in Pretoria earlier today. Police are searching for the two suspected shooters.

News24 reported that the suspected shooters appeared at the taxi rank and started firing. Brigadier Mathapelo Peters, the Gauteng SAPS spokesperson, in a report by IOL said, “Police are on the scene at Bosman taxi rank in Pretoria following a shooting incident this morning where five victims – two taxi operators and three commuters – have been injured and rushed to hospital for medical attention”.

She said that although the details of the incident were still unclear, no fatalities have been recorded.

Charles Mabaso the Tshwane Emergency services spokesperson told EWN that six people were injured, and not five as initially reported. Mabaso told the publication that of the six victims, one was critically injured, two sustained moderate to serious injuries, while the other three victims had minor to moderate injuries.

Police have launched a manhunt for the shooters.
