President Cyril Ramaphosa Will Address the Nation at 19:30

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the country on the measures undertaken to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

The president will be addressing the nation at 19h30 from the Union Buildings in Pretoria. It is reported that the president will be discussing the measures undertaken to flatten the curve of the Corona Virus spread in South Africa.

South Africa has already reported its second COVID-19 death with infections having reached 1280 by the 4th day of the national state of disaster lockdown.

In a tweet by Minister Jackson Mthembu, he clarified that the president will be discussing the government’s efforts to prevent the rapid spread of COVID-19. The address follows a meeting with the national command council on the efficacy of the lockdown.

The address will be streamed live on television, online and radio broadcasts.
