A 35-year-old man has allegedly been killed by an 18-year-old over a R100 dispute. The suspect is said to appear in the Eshowe Magistrates Court in KwaZulu-Natal on Thursday.
According to The Citizen a 35-year-old man was allegedly murdered by an 18-year-old suspect on Tuesday at around 13:00 pm.
Spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele states that the Eshowe police responded to a murder that took place around 13:00 in the Mbomboshane area in Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal.
It is alleged that when Eshowe police officers arrived at the scene, they were informed that the 35-year-old was stabbed in the upper left shoulder by the 18-year-old following an argument over a R100. The man was declared dead at the scene, News24 reports.
According to IOL, Mbele further states that the 18-year-old fled the scene of the crime, however, Eshowe police acted swiftly and tracked the suspect where he was found in the Mbomboshane area with the murder weapon still in his possession. The suspect was then arrested and charged with a case for murder.
KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula praised the police officers for their swift action on the matter.
