The Bloemfontein Regional Court handed a 37-year-old man a double life imprisonment sentence after they were found guilty for the rape of two boys.
“It was on 24 October 2017 when the accused saw the two boys playing near their homes in Bloemspruit Phase 10 when he lured the two boys, aged 7 and 4, to the nearby bushes. The suspect raped the 7-year-old boy,” Brigadier Motantsi Makhele reports.
The suspect told the children that he would kill them if they told someone what had happened and proceeded to give them R5 each.
Three days later, on 27 October 2017, the two boys were called again and the suspect raped the 4-year-old. He gave the boys each a R5 again.
The older boy had told one of his friends about what had happened and the friend went to tell the elders.
The Office of the Provincial Commissioner in the Free State reports that the information was then conveyed to the Bloemspruit police and the man, who was working as a cow herder, was arrested on two counts of rape.
“The case was finalized in the Bloemfontein Regional Court and Lepita Nkoto, who is a Lesotho national, was sentenced to an effective 2 life terms imprisonment,” concluded Makhele.
