Limpopo teenager expected to appear in court after bullying video goes viral

The Mbilwi Secondary school girl who was seen slapping Lufuno Mavhungo on camera is expected to appear in court on Friday.

Mavhungo committed suicide on the same day as the incident which is believed to be the reason she decided to end her life.

The incident caught national attention after the video went viral on social media, this has placed pressure on the Department of Education to implement a more effective bullying policy.

According to reports, the South African Human Rights Commission’s preliminary findings states that the school principal failed to take appropriate action when Mavhungo’s family alerted him to the incident.
