A woman has sustained fatal injuries after allegedly being stabbed by a male passenger in the car while driving on the M5 highway near Ottery on Thursday morning.
“EMS received a call regarding an incident which occurred on Ottery Road at the M5 turnoff, in the direction of Ottery at 10:40 this morning. The call was reported as a Motor Vehicle Accident which involved two vehicles.
“Upon arrival, the paramedics found a woman who had been stabbed. Unfortunately, the patient was deceased when the paramedics arrived at the scene,” Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Deanna Bessick says.
South African Paramedic services reported that the 35-year-old victim was found with multiple stab wounds believed to have been inflicted on her by the male passenger in the car.
This reportedly resulted in the second vehicle rear ending the car the deceased was driving.
The police’s Captain FC van Wyk says that the Wynberg police are investigating a murder case of the 35-year-old woman. Van Wyk reports that a 39-year-old suspect has been arrested on a charge of murder.
Crime scene experts and local police are said to still be on the scene as they comb through the area for clues.
