On Friday 13 November, in Gardens Cape Town, a camera crew was robbed of their equipment estimated to the value of R4 million. One of the robbers who formed part of a larger group, entered the store under the false pretense of being customers.
The suspected group allegedly held up the staff of the studio at Glenville Terrace in Gardens, Cape Town at gunpoint. The stills, caught on the CCTV footage, were clear enough for the man to be identifiable.
Provisional Organised Crime Investigations Unit detectives are seeking assistance from the public.
The province’s police have asked residents to heed their call for assistance in tracking down the suspect who was caught on camera. Police Spokesperson, Captain FC Van Wyk said, “They took high-quality lenses, cameras and other movie-making equipment worth an estimated R4 million and fled the scene in two motor vehicles; a white Toyota Etios and a brown Toyota Corolla.”
