Detectives are currently investigating a triple murder believed to be a taxi-related incident that occurred in Voortrekker Road and Charl Malan Street in Bellville on Tuesday afternoon.

ER24 paramedics report that local authorities were already on the scene when they arrived.

“Four people were found lying on the pavement. Medics assessed the patients and found that two had already succumbed to their numerous gunshot wounds. Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead.

The two other patients were found with multiple gunshot wounds, leaving them in a critical condition,” ER24 says.

The other two men were provided with advanced life support interventions and were then taken to a hospital closeby for further medical attention.

In a SAPS statement this morning, Colonel Andrè Traut reported that three people have died in what police believe to be taxi related. One bystander is currently recovering in hospital.

The identities of the victims are not disclosed at this stage.

Traut reports that a 32-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned. Police also confiscated two stolen firearms as well as three licensed firearms for further investigation.
