Members of the Grassy Park Crime Prevention Unit arrested three suspects after they discovered a hijacked motor vehicle in the area.
“The members followed up on information received and proceeded to an address in Prince George Drive, Grassy Park. Upon arrival at the workshop, members spotted the Volkswagen Jetta Fox, as per information, being stripped by a male person,” Captain FC van Wyk reports.
During their preliminary investigation, the members form the Unit found that the vehicle’s registration number was that of a Jetta and was reported as a hijacked vehicle earlier this month.
Three suspects aged 28, 29 and 42 were then arrested on Tuesday on a charge of the possession of stolen motor vehicle and stolen goods.
The suspects will be expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court.
