On Monday, the Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS) announced that they are offering a R200 000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in the arson attacks on their buses over the last few weeks.

The bus services’ statement read, “Golden Arrow will be offering a R200 000 reward for any information, including video footage of perpetrators setting the buses alight, which will lead to the arrest and conviction of these perpetrators,”.

Two more buses were set alight in Phillipi on Monday. This makes it a total of eight buses that have been destroyed in Cape Town this year, bringing Golden Arrow’s losses to approximately R19.2 million.

Golden Arrow says that they will be focusing on the safety of drivers and passengers and working with the police to end the series of attacks.
