Double life sentence handed to Franziska Blochliger’s killer.

CAPE TOWN – Today in the Western Cape High Court, Franziska Blochliger’s rapist and murderer received two life sentences plus 15 years for robbery.
Having previously denied the charges before him, Howard Oliver -last week- admitted to the rape and murder of the 16-year-old.
Franziska’s body was discovered shortly after her disappearance was reported last year. She was jogging in Tokai forest, when her killer attacked her.
Oliver’s confession noted that he choked Blochliger until she lost consciousness. He then dragged her into bushes nearby, after which he robbed her.
He went on to state that before raping her, he ensured that she was securely tied up.
The teenager’s parents have been struggling to cope with the tragic loss of their daughter, which has impacted their marriage. They say they still experience emotions of guilt and suffer with regular nightmares.
