Cape Town – Christ Church Constantia was filled to capacity as mourners came to pay their respect for Gill Packham on Tuesday.
Relatives and loved ones gathered in an emotional memorial service for Packham, whose charred body was found in the boot of her burnt-out car two weeks ago.
Packham, 57, who worked at Springfield Girls Convent in Wynberg, failed to turn up for work on the 22nd of February. Her remains were discovered later that evening at Diep River train station.
Robert Packham -Gill’s husband- appeared in Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with her murder. Blood was found on the driver’s side of the accused’s car, which was parked in his garage. Forensic pathologists also found blood in the en-suite bathroom, according to the State’s evidence.
The case will continue on the 9th of March 2018.
