Dr. Zweli Mkhize Confirms Increase of 128 Positive Covid-19 Cases

According to a statement by Minister Zweli Mkhize, as of Monday, South Africa has 402 confirmed cases of COVID-19, an increase of 128 since Sunday. 

The statement further reads that the Northern Cape has its first confirmed case. Gauteng has 207 and the Western Cape is at 100 confirmed cases.

News24 reports that the coronavirus death toll has topped 15000 across the world, Italy is currently going through the worst of it with 5476 deaths recorded.

According to the report, there are 172 238 officially declared positive cases with a total of 1395 new deaths. Europe is now the continent where the virus is spreading the most rapidly.

President Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation Monday evening on measures to be undertaken to mitigate the impact of COVID-19.

  1. We should not shut down. The best way to fight this is to isolate all the positive cases in one place. If you test positive you go to an isolation facility. Some hospitals and schools can be used for this.

  2. Shut down for 14days…let this thing die before it becomes worse…stay indoors for 14days
