Checkers has released a statement saying it is removing all TRESemmé products from its shelves.

The announcement came just a day after Clicks announced it would be removing the haircare line from its shelves in response to calls for action from South Africans after TRESemmè’s marketing campaign promoting racist stereotypes about hair went live on their website.

TRESemmé has since apologised for the offence its campaign caused.

Meanwhile, other retailers like Pick n Pay and Shoprite has also reportedly confirmed that they will follow suit and suspend sales of TRESemmè products.
