On Friday Capitec reported that they had noticed some of their clients had double deductions when using another bank’s pay machines and would investigate the technical issue that led to this. 

Capitec has not named the other bank involved and simply said that their IT team will be working on resolving the issue. The bank confirmed that all the double deductions will be reversed within the next 24 hours.

Capitec says all affected clients will be contacted directly via SMS.
