CAPE TOWN – Legendary DJ Ready D and his wife, Malikah Daniels, have joined the Man Up campaign in a bid to spread the message about male circumcision.
Things kicked off to a spinning start on Wednesday, at a special edition car show at Atlantic Studios in Montague Gardens. Close to 700 car enthusiasts and members of the public showed up for the event. Malikah put on a sensational drifting performance in her -‘Man Up’ branded- Nissan 200SX S13.
This year, Cape comedy team, Boeta Joe and Boeta Gamat threw in their support to this important campaign. They were both brave passengers as Malikah took them for a spin.
Former Man Up ambassadors include Christian Bennett, Chad Saaiman and Quanita Adams. Vannie Kaap was at the event on Wednesday, which has been dubbed as “Soenat, Just Doenit”.
Man Up is an awareness campaign which encourages young men to volunteer for
medical male circumcision. Circumcision is more hygienic and reduces a man’s chances of
contracting HIV and other STI’s.
It’s important for women to back the campaign too; circumcision in men actually reduces cervical cancer for their female partners.
Vannie Kaap has placed it’s support behind this life changing campaign. Starting Monday, VK will be launching a few exciting online initiatives to get more men in our communities to sign up.
To book a safe and free circumcision, SMS your full name to 35255 and a trained
counsellor will call you back. SMS is Free. Alternatively you can whatsapp Man Up on
0648779051 or message them on Facebook @ManUpJustdoenit
