A deadline for the release of the “State Capture” report has been set for no later than 5pm today. The Public Protector was just ordered to release the report.
This follows the news this morning that President Jacob Zuma withdrew the application he made to inderdict the report’s release.
Yesterday(Tuesday), Minister Des Van Rooyen’s application to inderdict the report was struck off by Gauteng Judge Dunstan Mlambo; due to lack of urgency. At the same time, opposition parties who had applied to oppose the president’s application were permitted to be represented in the matter.
Zuma’s lawyer Anthea Platt had informed the court that the president believed Thuli Madonsela’s report was flawed. This has not prevented this recent development of the court ordering the state capture report to be released by 5pm today.
