Bothasig Liquor Store Burgled Soon After Alcohol Ban is Announced

Just a day after President Ramaphosa announced the ban on alcohol, the SAPS released a statement saying they are investigating the burglary and theft of the OK Liquor Store at the Village Centre in Bothasig.

At approximately 04:35 on Tuesday morning, the owner of the store was notified by their security company that the alarm had been activated.

According to the police report, the owner discovered that the security gates of the store had been removed and the window closest to the entrance had been broken. Upon inspection, the owner found that many bottles of expensive liquor had been stolen.

The Bothasig Police Station has since opened up a case of burglary at a business premises and theft.
