According to eNCA, three-month-old baby Tshegofatso Nyambiri was found by a couple on Sunday evening next to the University of Pretoria’s Mamelodi campus. The SAPS reported on Friday 13 March that baby Tshegofatso was allegedly kidnapped at a clinic in Mamelodi West.

Tshegofatso’s mother, Dipuo reportedly told eNCA a stranger pretended to want to play with him. The woman is reported to be short in height and was dressed in a grey top, orange leggings and grey and white tekkies.

Dipuo said she received a shocking phone call. “There’s a guy who called. He threatened that I must send him R1,000. Then he will return the child.” She says he explained that she should deposit the money at Spar or Shoprite.

Investigations are underway.
