A man was shot dead and his wife injured after an attempted hijacking in Midrand on Tuesday. According to reports, the couple stopped at a traffic light on the corner of Maple and Main roads when they were attacked.
Police spokesperson Brig Mathapelo Peters said “Two men allegedly stormed the couple’s vehicle and attempted to get inside their Nissan X-Trail, which then allegedly rolled back downhill and landed in a ditch, shots were allegedly fired from the suspects’ vehicle, the female driver was wounded in the upper body and her husband killed”
Reports state that, the suspects were in a white Audi A4 with an unknown number plate. A case of attempted hijacking, attempted murder and murder is being investigated.
