Nthuthuko Shoba, the 32-year-old man accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of 28-year-old Tshegofatso Pule in 2020, appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s court for a second attempt at bail on Tuesday.
According to KayaFM reporter, Nosipho Radebe, Shoba requested that the court release him on R15 000 bail, which is half of his March salary. He also noted that his house in Florida can be used as surety.
He was arrested after Muzikayise Malephane, the man convicted of murdering Pule, turned state witness. It is alleged that Shoba was Pule’s boyfriend at the time and allegedly ordered Malephane to murder Pule to hide her pregnancy from his wife.
Shoba chose to disclose his defence through his lawyer in court today and therefore the bail application has been postponed to 22 April for the state to answer on the facts presented in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
