Absa customers woke up to a payday Friday where the bank’s online and mobile app platforms were down.
It is not yet known what caused the crash, however, Absa quickly updated its customers via social media, the online banking platform, and the app.
Customers attempting to log in were met with a “System offline” notification.
The message read, “Our systems are temporarily offline. Don’t worry, we are busy working on it and will be up and running shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
Absa also informed customers that ATMs and card purchases were not affected.
Our digital channels are temporarily unavailable. We are working hard to restore them as quickly as possible. ATMs are not affected, and you can also use your card to buy online or in-store while we resolve this issue. Apologies for any inconvenience.
