On Wednesday NBC renewed the all-time favourite and long-running series, Days of our Lives for its 56th season.
According to Channel 24, there was some speculation that the show might be canceled because of down spiraling ratings and contract negotiation but the tv-series announced on Twitter, “#DAYS has officially been renewed for its 56th season.”
Various news outlets quoted Executive producer Ken Corday saying, “We are most grateful to NBC for their enduring faith in the future of Days of our Lives, and we are excited to continue delivering compelling stories to our loyal family of fans into this new decade.”
Deadline wrote, Steve Kent, Senior EVP, Programming at Sony Pictures said, “Ken Corday and his team continue to build on the legacy of quality storytelling and intriguing characters that connect with audiences of all ages. We are thrilled that viewers in the U.S. and around the world will be able to enjoy the award-winning Days of our Lives for another season.”
So yes, we’ll get to hear these words on television for a little while longer: “Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives.”
