I get it, you have just recovered from your festive spending. And now your significant other wants something special for Valentine’s day. Don’t stress, we have put together some affordable 14th of February ideas that won’t cost you an arm or a leg, or both.
A Romantic Meal at Home
Give them the night off and make their favourite dish. Add a bottle of their preferred wine and desert – you’re all set. Play some romantic music in the background and make sure granny picked the kids up for the night.
2. Arrange a Home Spa Day
Create a spa in your bathroom. Clear all the clutter and tidy up a bit. Dim the lights and add nicely scented candles, make sure it’s a scent they love. Play some soothing music in the background to set the perfect atmosphere. Place their cosiest robe, softest towels and washcloths in the bathroom. Have a pitcher of Sangria, a glass of wine or champagne ready for them to sip as they relax in the tub.
Give Your partner a massage
Giving a massage is the most affordable thing ever! And you don’t have to be an expert either. First step, get the body oil or tissue oil works well too. Then all you have to do is move to one side of your partner. Then, you use your fingertips, laying one hand on top of the other, applying the desired pressure. By starting at the lower back, you need to push down firmly away from the spine toward their side. If this does not help, you might have to YouTube it.
Host a Beer and Wine Tasting in your lounge
Seeing as the booze ban has been lifted, you can share an intimate wine and beer tasting experience in the lounge. Choose a theme if you want to create a specific ambiance, it is really up to you. Then, set the table nicely. Paying special attention to include wine and beers you have not had before. This is an awesome way to look, smell and taste some great wines our country produces. As always the right music sets the mood accompanied by lovely cheese and crackers of course.
Offer your time (sorry men, this one is specifically for the ladies!)
Men like to accuse their wives off nagging, especially when they want to get out of chores. But this Valentine’s Day, instead of an expensive gift, offer your time. Do those tasks your partner has been asking you to do around the house for ages. She will really appreciate the gesture more than you can imagine.
There you have it. We hope these ideas get you excited for this coming weekend. I must add though some ladies still prefer the traditional chocolates and roses. It somehow still does the trick, if you know what I mean, wink-wink.
