According to reports, The Foschini Group (TFG) will be increasing its investment at two of their Cape Town based clothing factories.

The company says it is part of their Covid-19 strategy to “reduce dependence on international suppliers like China.”

TFG reportedly plans on expanding the factory floor space and employing an additional 530 workers this year. The group hopes to increase with another 5 000 employees by 2025

According to eNCA, just five years ago almost 80% of TFG’ s merchandise was sourced from the East. However, the group currently sources 35% of its clothes locally.
